WinRAR 6.01 Final

 

 

WinRAR version 6.01 final is now available

The final version 6.01 of WinRAR (including Windows x64) is now available in English, Spanish, Galician, Catalan and Basque, as well as RAR for Linux (32 and 64 bits), FreeBSD (32 and 64 bits) and Mac OS X in English .

This update is free for all registered users who have purchased their license at winrar.es . Users who have purchased a license from another website for a previous version of WinRAR need to have contracted the annual maintenance plan to be able to update.

To update WinRAR you just have to install this trial version without uninstalling the previous version and WinRAR will automatically recognize your license.

What's new in version 6.01

1. The keyboard accelerator Ctrl + A selects all the text in the WinRAR comment window.
2. If the -idn switch is used in conjunction with -to -df when compressing from console RAR, the "Removing "or" Verifying "normally emitted by these switches.
   
   -idn also disables error messages when creating folders when extracting a file into a folder that does not exist.
3. Both WinRAR and the SFX ZIP module cannot extract the contents of ZIP SFX archives if the central directory resides after the beginning of the Authenticode digital signature. This is to prevent possible attacks by including a ZIP file in the body of the signature.
4. Fixed bugs:
   1. The command "Convert files" could incorrectly convert Unicode comments to RAR files.
   2. If two file information windows are opened from the Windows Explorer context menu, the compression ratio bar in the first window may incorrectly display the value of the second file.
      
      It does not affect the compression ratio or other textual details to the right of the window. Only the vertical bar on the left can contain an incorrect value.
   3. If the option "Wait for other copies of WinRAR active" was activated in the extraction window, the title of the extraction progress window was not set to "Waiting for other copies of WinRAR" while waiting.
   4. When extracting a symbolic link the previous versions did not overwrite the existing symbolic links even if the user had requested to overwrite them when asked.
